Black Quartz on Anhydrite
Black Quartz on Anhydrite
Location: Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Size: 4.5*5.3*7.5 cm / crystal 1.5cm
Originally formed within the Triassic Burano Formation of the Northern Apennines, these double-terminated black quartz crystals grow gracefully from anhydrite matrix. Emerging quietly from the matrix, they resemble daydreaming adventurers unwilling to wake from an eternal dream.
Their dark tone comes from graphite inclusions, giving each crystal a soft yet profound black depth. Often double-terminated (also known as “DT crystals”), one end typically remains embedded in the anhydrite while the other stands fully exposed. The natural lustre of anhydrite enhances the quartz’s dreamy, luminous contrast, creating a gentle, comforting energy.
The balanced palette of black, white, and gray offers a serene presence—making these pieces especially valued in healing practices for grounding, calmness, and emotional stability.
▸ Perfect for elevating the tranquility of any living space
▸ Anhydrite is sensitive to humidity; avoid placing near water sources such as bathrooms or kitchens
